Petroleum Engineering

Petroleum Engineering

Many of us are not heard about this wonderful course which is now become the essential for life as an oxygen

About course
Petroleum refers to crude oil and petroleum engineering is the set of activities related to the production
and processing of various products such as gasoline, diesel, heating oil from crude oil. Petroleum
engineers work with geologists to understand the geologic formation and properties of the rock
containing the oil reservoir, determine the drilling methods to be used and monitor drilling and production
operations. They design equipment and processes to achieve the maximum profitable recovery of oil and
gas. Petroleum engineers rely heavily on computer models to simulate reservoir performance using
different recovery techniques.  Petroleum engineering requires a good knowledge of many other related
disciplines, such as geophysics, petroleum geology, formation evaluation (well logging), drilling, economics,
reservoir simulation, reservoir engineering, well engineering, artificial lift systems, completions and oil
and gas facilities engineering. Further studies– After completing B. Tech in Petroleum Engineering,
you can go for M. Tech followed by research.

Start Early
Considering the inclination towards petroleum engineering one should start preparing for entrance
exams which are conducted by various engineering colleges. As Petroleum is available in areas which
are geographically isolated places, it could be challenging to work in such a place. However, it is a
highly paid career and money attracts lots of students to pursue this field of study in engineering
colleges.

Further Education:
• ME Petroleum Engineering
• MTech Petroleum Engineering
• MTech Petroleum Exploration
• MTech Petroleum Refinery Engineering
• MTech Petroleum Refining and Petrochemical Engineering

Job profiles – The job profiles for Petroleum Engineering are as follows:
  • Oil and gas extraction
  • Supervisor
  • Processor
  • Petroleum refining
  • Technical service

So what are the designations when you become a Petroleum Engineer ?? Lets have a look..
Different Roles, Different Names
Depending upon the qualification, skills and experience, roles and designations differ in the field.
Some of the positions offered are Reservoir Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, Senior Geoscientist,
Drill Bits System Field Engineer, Petroleum Technologist and Drilling Engineer.

Other positions are Principal Reservoir Petro Physicist, Technical Support Specialist, Tender and
Quotations Analyst, Geosciences Pressure Expert, Senior Petro Physicist, Senior Exploration Geologist
and Process Engineer.

Okay you may have the important question.. The vital reason for we all working.. MONEY.. Lets see about the salary structure of petroleum eng.. for the past 2013 in dollars..

Mechatronics Engineering

Mechatronics Engineering

Mechatronics is a design process that includes a combination of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, telecommunications engineering, control engineering and computer engineering.
Originally, mechatronics just included the combination of mechanics and electronics, hence the word is a combination of mechanics and electronics..

Note This :
Mechatronics can be applied to fields like nanotechnology, automation, aircraft engineering, oceanography, oil and gas, biomedical systems, transport and computer-aided design.

About course :
Mechatronics is a design process and Mechatronics Engineering multidisciplinary engineering branch
which integrates the classical fields of mechanical, electrical engineering, mathematics, and computer
science/information technology. Mechatronics is centered on mechanics, electronics, computing, control
engineering, molecular engineering (from nanochemistry and biology) and optical engineering which,
combined, make possible the generation of simpler, more economical, reliable and versatile systems.
Its application areas range from power systems to transportation to optical telecommunications to
biomedical engineering. An industrial robot is a prime example of a mechatronics system as it includes
aspects of electronics, mechanics, and computing to do its day-to-day jobs. A mechatronics engineer
unites the principles of mechanics, electronics, and computing to generate a simpler, more economical
and reliable system. The term was coined from mechanics and electronics.

Further studies After completing B. Tech in Mechatronics Engineering, you can go for M. Tech followed by research.
