About Course

Industrial Bio-Technology is a form of applied Bio-Technology. A student learns to apply his knowledge 
of Bio-Technology for producing and processing materials, bio-energy, chemicals and also 

pharmaceuticals products. Industrial Bio-Technologists finds alternatives to preserve natural 
resources through finding alternatives and sustainable form of development. Industry 

professionals in this domain learn to use micro organisms and other enzymes for manufacturing  

products. They often replace chemical  catalysts with biological catalysts to perform processes. 
We are in an era where there is a fight for reducing green house emissions and hence preserving 

the environment and planet. The industrial bio-technologists can assume very prominent role as 

they are the ones who can come up with ideas of manufacturing products using less energy, 

reducing waste production and still ensuring higher yields at reasonable pricing. On successful 

completion of the course, one finds himself working in sectors of paper and pulp, food industries, 

energy and textile firms.

Further Education

As to do graduation in this branch, students need to have passed their 10+2 with science subject 

such as biology, maths and chemistry and after completing the graduation degree students can either 

pursue master programs.
